Beneath the Tiled Arches, Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan

The ornate tiled façade of Mazar-i-Sharif is rendered through repeating arches and intricate geometric patterns. Rich blues and greens dominate the composition, while a solitary figure adds scale and quiet presence. In this piece, I explored pattern, repetition, and stillness within historic architecture.
